Difficult Words

Wait… associated with patience and self control.

Forgive… an inner fight to overcoming feelings and pride.

When emotions flow like a raging river and wash away self control and common sense, the words “wait” and “forgive” only irritate and incite.

Even in our calmest moments, “wait” goes against the desire to accomplish and motivate, even when peace and rest call to the deepest part of ourselves.

When relationships bump and bruise and to “forgive” is the only way to healing, something inside of us still seems to run away from taking that step.

Yet, experience shows that “wait” and “forgive” accomplish far more than any self-generated activity. They heal and nourish and replenish.

Simple words. Difficult words.
