In a week where love gets highlighted, let’s make sure our focus first goes to the only source of love that does not fail.
“Turn, O Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.” (Psalm 6:4)
“But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.” (Psalm 13:5)
“For the king trust in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.” (Psalm 21:7)
“The Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love.” (Psalm 33:18)
“Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.” (Psalm 33:22)
“How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your sings.” (Psalm 36:7)
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.” (Psalm 143:8)
There are many more Psalms (and verses throughout the Bible) that focus on God’s unfailing love. Clearly, God loves us and does so without ceasing or even letting up in any way.
Let your love for others flow out of the unfailing love that God has for you.
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” (Psalm 139:14-16)
Looking for a way to get involved? Here are a few opportunities for you to prayerfully consider.
- Benevolence Committee: We are looking for someone to lead this ministry. This involves contacting women of the church for donations and kitchen help during funerals, to prepare meals for someone going through surgery/illness, and to help with meals for someone who just had a baby. The women of this church are always willing to help. Most are just waiting for someone to ask. Leading this committee simply involves asking for and coordinating that help.
- Ladies Bible Study: Leading this ministry involves choosing a Bible study 2 times a year (usually spring and fall), setting a time and place for the study, and leading or finding someone to lead discussions.
- Ladies Events: Have ideas for get-togethers? We’re looking for activities that encompass a wide range of ages and interests. The goal of these events is fellowship.
Contact Diane Borst to discuss these opportunities.
